I am not a professional politician. I am an ordinary worker. I have been a train mechanic at L.A. Metro for 23 years. I served as an elected union steward for nine years.
Workers get squeezed, while the rich get richer. Bosses and politicians divide workers against each other. Black workers bear the brunt of the worst unemployment, poverty and police violence. Millions of immigrants are deprived of their rights so the bosses can pay them much less. Women’s rights are blatantly under attack. These attacks are aimed at all workers, to drag us all down.
Finally, we face a real march to war. The U.S. government fuels barbaric wars in the Middle East and Ukraine, while instigating a trade war with China. All in order to increase U.S. corporate domination. Working people have no choice but to fight back.
